I received my undergraduate BA Mod. (Physics with Astrophysics) from Trinity College Dublin (TCD) in 2007. My undergraduate dissertation focussed on the the implications for life on Earth from large solar eruption events.
Between finishing my undergraduate degree and starting my PhD, I spent a summer working at NASA Goddard Space Flight Centre with the STEREO/Cor-2 team under the supervision of Dr. James McAteer.
I did my PhD at TCD under the supervision of Dr. Peter Gallagher from 2007 to 2011 on The Kinematics of Global Waves in the Solar Corona. During my PhD, I spent a year from 2010-2011 working as a Pre-doctoral Fellow at the Harvard-Smithsonian Centre for Astrophysics in Cambridge, MA under the supervision of Dr. Ed Deluca.
