Darina is a Survey Manager at the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (CLS), UCL Institute of Education. She assists in various aspects of the development and implementation of the internationally renowned cohort studies run and managed by CLS, and primarily Next Steps (formerly known as the Longitudinal Study of Young People in England).


Darina’s research interests split between methodology of longitudinal surveys and life course social epidemiology.
Her research focuses on various aspects of survey design. She’s also interested in postponed parenthood and changing family structures.
Darina is a seminar leader in the Survey Methods module in the Social Research Methods MSc, at the UCL IoE.
Her previous teaching experience include undergraduate courses in Bulgarian Traditions in Sociology, Theory of Survey Research Methodology and Qualitative research, at the Department of Applied and Institutional Sociology, University of Plovdiv, Bulgaria, where Darina was a visiting lecturer.
