Research Summary

I am currently the data harmonisation theme lead at CLOSER (Cohort & Longitudinal Studies Enhancement Resources), a consortium of UK-based longitudinal studies. I am also leading harmonisation-themed work at the UK Longitudinal Linkage Collaboration, supporting COVID-19 research.

Previously I was a member of the Whitehall II Study team based in the Research Department of Epidemiology & Public Health. In my role as a research associate on this project, I undertook investigations into the relationship between alcohol consumption and cardiovascular disease risk, with a particular focus on consumption patterns across the life-course.

Prior to joining the Whitehall II Study, I worked for a number of years on a series of national clinical audits, using hospital record data and adminstrative data linkage to explore care practices and patient outcomes across cardiovascular treatment centres in the UK. This role included the development of automated reporting tools at the hospital and consultant level subsequently implemented in national healthcare evaluation.

You can access my complete publication history on Google Scholar or ORCiD.

Teaching Summary

I have extensive experience in the development and delivery of teaching undergraduate and postgraduate statistical courses, as well as in the teaching of epidemiology, determinants of health, psychological assessment and related research methods. I have supervised MScs and PhDs on diverse health and wellbeing research topics.
