Biography

Elisa Alessandrini graduated in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Industry from University of Milan. She has an MSc in Clinical Trials from University College London.

Previously, she worked as an Associate Pharmacy Manager for a CRO specialised in early phase clinical trials.

Currently, Elisa is working as a Research Assistant at UCL School of Pharmacy for conect4children, a pan-European clinical trial network aimed to fast-track development of better medicines for children.

Research Summary

Elisa's broad research interest is improving the development of paediatric medicines. In particular, her main focus is on paediatric formulation research and how to make medicines more tailored for children. Her work consists in investigating the impact of dosage forms characteristics on paediatric patient acceptability. She is also exploring new methodologies for measuring patient acceptability in children e.g. by using face recognition app to capture acceptability in a real-world, and for assessing the impact of variable acceptability on treatment response, e.g. by using PKPD modelling and simulations techniques.
