Beth is a lecturer in education following thirteen years in schools in London and Internationally. She was a Middle and Senior Leader in Inner London schools and International Schools in Bangkok and Switzerland from 2004. Along with her Art & Design background she has designed, implemented and led on an alternative competence based curriculum (primary transition) in partnership with the RSA. She has taught literacy, SEN, and Humanities. She has mentored and trained student teachers as her primary role since 2012 both in school for several years as PCM/AHT and then for UCL Institute of Education on the Teach First programme for 2 years. Alongside responsibility for ITE in school she has taken responsibility for Teaching and Learning and Professional Development in school. Beth is now working on 2 Masters programmes: the Advanced Educational Practice programme as Module Leader of Developing Mentoring Practices and the MA Education programme as a tutor and as part of the WIE module team. She also works supporting the Portfolio Lead for international teacher education and as the lead for Module 1 for the IOE UOL PGCE in Teacher Development: a distance learning programme. Following on from the work she has done writing and developing a module on mentoring, Beth is currently involved in IOE evaluation and research around mentoring and the Early Career Framework (ECF).
