Biography

I joined UCL as a Senior Research Fellow attached to the InTouch Project, an interdisciplinary project investigating the social and sensory implications of digitally mediated touch. Now I am working on my project ‘Biohybrid Bodies: a sociological framework for living with Living Machines' - funded by the Leverhulme Trust. 

 

Prior to this I held positions as a Senior Research Associate (University of East Anglia) and as a Lecturer (University of Lincoln). I have a broad academic background with degrees in Sports Coaching, Social Science Research Methods, and the Sociology of Education.

Research Summary

My research is focused on exploring the complex relationships between the body, technology and society. With an interdisciplinary research trajectory, I have applied my expertise to a range of subject areas including: technology, sport, performance art, industry and education. I am a member of UCL Collaborative Social Science Research Domain Early Career Researcher Coordinating Group.

Teaching Summary

I have coordinated and lectured a variety of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level. I am an Associate Fellow of the HEA. Whilst a Lecturer I co-supervised PhD candidates and am interested in continuing to work with postgraduate students with interests in: sensory research methods, body studies, the intersections of body-technology-society.
