Biography
I completed my PhD in International Politics at King's College London, with a thesis focusing on the societal and communicative dimensions of international clinical trials. I have a a Master's in Geography (University of Sao Paulo, Brazil) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (University of Sao Paulo).
Research Summary
I am a sociologist and geographer.
I have studied the social and geographical implications of biomedical technologies, focusing on topics such as bioinformatics, neuroimaging software, bioprinting, and others. In addition to being interested in regulatory issues, I study the sociolinguistic meaning gained by biomedical technologies in their production and circulation in society. In 2019 I published Neuroimaging, software, and communication.
From 2019 to 2020, prior to joining UCL, I was a Research Fellow in Sociology of Biomedical Technology, based in the School of Global Studies, University of Sussex.
