Biography

Emmanouil (Manos) Chaniotakis is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) at MaaSLab, UCL Energy Institute, University College London (UCL), United Kingdom. He holds a diploma in Rural and Surveying Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), an MSc degree in Transportation Infrastructure and Logistics from Delft University of Technology (TUDelft), and a PhD from Technical University of Munich (TUM).

Research Summary

Emmanouil (Manos) Chaniotakis research focuses on modelling and simulation of transportation systems, demand modeling, and machine learning in Transportation. He has been involved in various European and national projects. He has authored more than 30 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and books. He is a member of several professional and scientific organizations and a frequent reviewer for many scientific journals and conferences. 

Teaching Summary

Manos teaching activities span 5 years, in roles of either a lecturer or a teaching assistant. At TUM, Manos taught for a period of 6 semesters, at a 5 hours per week rate, while at UCL, Manos is teaching the Energy and Transport Analytics module of the ESDA MSc. He is active in supervising PhD and Master students. Manos is a vocal advocate of peer-review research at both masters- and PhD-level, thus, I systematically urge his students, and work with them, towards publishing their work in scientific journals.
