Alongside my PhD I am a co-host on the IOE's 'Research for the Real World' podcast, and a board member for ESERA (the European Science Education Research Association).

I am a PhD Researcher in the Department of Education, Practice and Society (EPS) at IOE. In the context of teacher shortages disproportionately affecting the sciences, my mixed-methods research considers which factors, experiences and attitudes prompt some young people to first want to become a teacher (especially in the sciences), and which factors enable these aspirations to sometimes be realised, and at other times dropped,as young people progress through education.
My PhD is funded by the UK's Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), with co-funding from the Royal Society of Chemistry. My supervisors are Professor Louise Archer, Dr Mark Hardman, and Annette Farrell at the Royal Society of Chemistry.
