Biography
Lizzie began her career in community pharmacy but quickly developed a passion for teaching and supporting professional development of practicing pharmacists. Her PhD focussed on the development and evaluation of a professional development framework to support pharmacists working in primary care and community pharmacy.

Following completion of her PhD, Lizzie moved the Keele University where she developed expertise in the development and delivery of on-line, distance learning, including the development of a Level 8 research module which was unique in it's level and delivery i.e. distance learning. Whilst at Keele, Lizzie led on the development of a number of programmes, including a Professional Doctorate and a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy for General Practice. More latterly she was responsible for the overall design, development and delivery of all the professional postgraduate Master's level programmes delivered by the School of Pharmacy. She instigated and led the re-modelling and relaunch, through bespoke marketing, including the development of a new website, of the School of Pharmacy's postgraduate division as a centre of excellence for postgraduate education for pharmacists and prescribers,

In her role at UCL Lizzie is currently leading on the development of a Clinically Enhanced Pharmacist Independent Prescribing Course.

Research Summary
Lizzie's research has focussed on the educational issues relevant to the pharmacy profession and she has a national profile in this respect in two key areas: pre-registration quality assurance and professional development frameworks. Lizzie's research into the use of professional development frameworks has directly influenced the development of the Foundation programme and the Faculty by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society. Her publications are widely cited in RPS documents. More recently she led an HEE commissioned research project in the use of workplace based assessments in pharmacy pre-registration training. Her current areas of interest include the role of the clinical pharmacist in General Practice and non-medical prescribing.
