Before commencing his PhD in September 2016 Edmund trained and practised as a banking lawyer at CMS Cameron McKenna (2004-2011), before working at the Royal Bank of Scotland as Legal Counsel and subsequently as Head of Legal for Business Banking (2011-2014).
Edmund's research relates to the regulation of risk under public international law, focusing specifically on the application of international humanitarian law to the risk associated with state support to participants in armed conflict. This research also involves consideration of international human rights law, the laws regulating the arms trade, and other areas of general international law. This PhD is funded by the London Arts & Humanities Partnership.
Edmund teaches international human rights law to LLM students, focusing on the extra-territorial application of human rights law and on the interaction between human rights law and the law of armed conflict.
