In 2021 I received a Gold Medal formthe ISMRM for his contribution of applying MRI in neurological disorders.

Research Summary
My research focusses on white matter disease, ageing & dementia and glioma. I (co)authored 1270 papers referenced in PubMed, My H-factor is 178 (Google Scholar) and I am listed among 3000 most influential scientists world-wide by Thompson-Reuters. My books include “Neuroimaging in Dementia”, “Clinical applications of functional brain MRI” and “Clinical Neuroradiology – the ESNR textbook”

Teaching Summary
More than 70 PhD students graduated under my supervision and 6 of them have subsequently attained a full professorship.
