Biography
After completing my initial schooling in Kashmir, India, I moved to Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) for further studies and completed bachelor's in Geology (main) with Physics and Mathematics (subsidiary subjects) in 2019. I moved to University of Burgundy French-Comte, Dijon, France to pursue (fully funded) M.S Physics Photonics and Nanotechnology program. I worked at the Advanced Quantum Architecture (AQUA) Lab of EPFL, Switzerland, on Single Photon Avalanche Diodes for my master's thesis in 2021. I then moved to UCL for my Ph.D. in THz photonics in January 2022.
Research Summary
I am working as a Marie-Curie Early stage researcher on THz photonics in the Ultrafast Photonics group, department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University College London, London, UK. My research is focused on antenna integrated UniTravellingCarrier Photodiode (array) for Earth observation. I am concentrating in designing of optimized antenna for the set of bands used in Earth observation that are accessible with UTC-PD photomixers. I am investigating all the different solutions to efficiently couple the signal out and possibly in for detection, by employing conventional metalized bow ties and slot antennas and novel plasmonic based metamaterials based antennas.
