Filipa Figueira specialises in the European Union, from a political economy perspective. She is particularly interested in the bounded rationality and effectiveness of EU policymaking, in EU governance and the allocation of policy competences between the EU and the national level, and in populism/ Brexit. At a methodological level, her use of political economy aims to offer novel combinations of political and economic theoretical frameworks.
