Biography
I graduated with a MSc in industrial biotechnologies in 2010 at the University of Padova (Italy). I completed my PhD in Biology and Regenerative Medicine in 2014 at the University of Padova (Italy), under the supervision of gastroenterologist Prof. Annarosa Floreani, and chemical engineer Prof. Nicola Elvassore. I then moved to UCL GOS ICH in 2016 in the group of pediatric surgeon Prof. Paolo De Coppi, where I was awarded with a BRC Catalyst Fellowship in 2019.
Research Summary
I am a Research Associate working at the GOS Institute of Child Health. Our laboratory at the Zayed Centre for Research focuses on regenerative medicine application for disease in children. My main area of expertise is the modeling of human development and disease in the gastrointestinal tract using endodermal organoids derived from fetal and pediatric tissues. With the aim of translating into clinical reasearch I am developing extracellular matrix-derived hydrogels to bring human organoids into a clinical environment.
Teaching Summary

During my PhD I have been involved in teaching to the Master Degree in Industrial Biotechnologies at the University of Padova (Italy).

At UCL, I contribute annually to the UCL MSc module on the Molecular Aspects of Cell and Gene Therapy, as part of the ICH MSc Cell & Gene Therapy course, performing lessons on microfluidics for cell and gene therapy.
