I have been involved in projects at the SSRU since May 2013 and joined the EPPI-Centre at the SSRU in August 2014. Prior to pursuing a career in academia, I had extensive experience in the commercial world, working in media and television. I now conduct health focused systematic reviews, with topics ranging from impact of medical conditions on various demographic groups to health benefits of improved domestic services. I have recently completed my PhD on children's participation in medicines research and development. I am a qualified herbal practitioner and medical ethnobotanist.
I am a mixed-methods researcher who works on a number of collaborative projects in the field of public involvement in research, medicine, public health and methods development for evidence-based health policy creation. I have a particular interest in research that focuses on children's involvement, diversity and underrepresented communities, particularly mixed-ethnicity communities and the impact of missing medical histories on personal medical decisions. My research expertise covers a variety of qualitative and systematic reviewing research methods. I have published, and teach, on various topics including: discourse analysis (all types); research methods development; thematic and framework synthesis; evidence mapping methods, Bakhtinian theory; intrapersonal role conflict theory; children's rights; and developing methods for children's involvement in medicines research.

I provide module tutoring for Migration and Society and Sociology of Childhood. I also teach interview methods and thematic analysis for the Doctor of Educational Psychology course and children's participation for the UCL Eastman Dental Institute.
