Biography
Guglielmo Verona is a Lecturer at the UCL Centre for Amyloidosis since May 2022. He obtained his MSc (cum laude) in Pharmacy from the University of Pavia (Italy) in 2012 before moving to UCL where he obtained a PhD in Amyloidosis in 2019.
Research Groups


Research Summary
He is mainly interested in the understanding of the mechanism of aggregation of amyloidogenic proteins and the investigation of the role played by the extracellular environment in promoting amyloid deposition and specific tissue targeting. He is mainly focused on transthyretin amyloidosis, which is now emerging as the most common form of systemic amyloidosis worldwide.
