Biography

I completed my PhD in 2017 at University College London (UCL) under the supervision of Prof. Nader Saffari in UCL Mechanical Engineering and Prof. Ian Ford in UCL Department of Physics and Astronomy.  Subsequently, I started working as a research associate jointly at the Ultrasonics Laboratory of UCL Mechanical Engineering and the Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing Group at UCL Mathematics. I received master's degrees in Sound and Vibration from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden, and Mechanical Engineering with focus on Mechatronics and Fault Diagnosis from McMaster University, Canada.

Research Summary

My research interests lie in the interface between physical acoustics and biological physics, with applications to pharmaceutical, health and biomedical problems. I am particularly interested in developing a theoretical understanding of the nucleation of a phase transition in fluids and tissues mediated by acoustic waves, such as formation of crystals or bubbles in an acoustic field, and modelling the wave propagation in tissues for the therapeutic applications of ultrasound. I have also worked in areas as diverse as statistical signal processing, fault diagnosis and condition monitoring, numerical analysis and high performance computing.
