Huihuang Jia is a PhD Student and Associate Lecturer (Teaching) at UCL Centre for Translation Studies (CenTraS). Subtitling, Voiceover and Dubbing, Audio Description, and Translation Technologies are among the modules he teaches and supports as the Tutor of the MSc Translation and Technology programme. He also serves as a Production Editor of the Journal of Audiovisual Translation (published by European Association for Studies in Screen Translation) and as a Reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals such as The Translator (SSCI-listed Journal; Routledge). His research interests lie in Audiovisual Translation, Media Accessibility, (Cognitive) Translation Studies, and Neuroscience of Translation. His memberships or affiliations include the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation, Translators Association of China, Chartered Institute of Linguistics, and Institute of Translators and Interpreters. Additionally, he is a research collaborator and member of the Translation, Interpreting and Intercultural Studies Research Group at the University of Antwerp and a member of the General History of Film Translation in China Research Group at the Communication University of China.

Huihuang's doctoral study sets out to work in the emerging and blooming field of audiovisual translation, with special emphasis on cognitive approaches to subtitling.
