Dr. Petridis qualified from the Dental School of
Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with Honors, ranking 1st in
class during both the years of studies and graduation (1994). He continued his studies at Tufts University,
Boston, U.S.A. where he completed an Advanced Education Programme in
Prosthodontics (1997) and acquired a Master of Science degree (1998). He completed his postgraduate studies with a
PhD degree from Aristotle University (2001).
From 2000 to 2012 Dr. Petridis maintained a private
practice in Thessaloniki, Greece where he practiced all aspects of dentistry
with an emphasis on Restorative, Esthetic and Implant Dentistry while, at the
same time, he was an Assistant Professor in Prosthodontics at the Dental School
of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Since 2012, he has also maintained a private practice in London.
In 2012, Dr. Petridis relocated to London accepting the position as a Senior Clinical Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the Prosthodontic Unit at UCL
Eastman Dental Institute. In 2019 he was appointed Professor and Chair of Prosthodontics. He is currently
serving as Director of the Master in Clinical Dentistry (Advanced Training) in Prosthodontics program. He has authored and co-authored a number of scientific
papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, and has headed
several past and current research projects in the field of Prosthodontics and Aesthetic dentistry.
Dr. Petridis is currently registered with the GDC, in
the Prosthodontics specialist list, and is also on the list of recognized
specialists in Prosthodontics issued by the European Prosthodontic Association. He is a member of the International College
of Prosthodontists, the Academy of Osseointegration, the European Prosthodontic
Association, the Cochrane collaboration Oral Health Group, and an affiliate of
the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry.




Dr Lambis Petridis has been involved in research and publications in the following areas:
Polymer and ceramic materials: Evaluated and compared their bond to metal frameworks.
Meta-analyses of clinical studies: Systemically reviewed and analyzed the results of clinical studies pertaining to controversial issues in restorative dentistry, such as: Implant abutment screw loosening, complications of complete implant fixed prostheses, the influence of age on fixed prostheses survival, the influence of material selection on ceramic veneer complication rates.
Evidence-based therapy and problem-based learning: Reviewed the relevant literature and recommended applications in clinical decision-making and education.
Cooperation between dentists and dental technicians: Surveyed dental laboratories regarding cooperation problems with dentists.
Dental arch stability: Investigated the effect of tooth loss on the remaining teeth position stability.
Dental Implant corrosion: Investigated the effect of abutment connection geometry on corrosion products
Antimicrobial coatings for intraoral prostheses: Investigated the effect of polymer coatings of intraoral prostheses on surface properties and microbial colonization
Extensive experience in organising and delivering lectures, courses and seminars both at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Extensive clinical teaching experience in the field of Prosthodontics and inter-disciplinary treatment planning both at an undergraduate and postgraduate level.
