Following her laboratory-based PhD in Virology and Immunology at the University of Cambridge, Dr. Stagg moved to the Health Protection Agency's Tuberculosis Section in 2010 and retrained in epidemiology. After her secondment to Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard School of Public Health, in 2012 she took up a Research Associate post at University College London in the group of Professor Ibrahim Abubakar, from which she was promoted to Senior Research Associate in 2013. After successfully being awarded a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Postdoctoral Fellowship she became a Senior Research Fellow in 2015. Within the Centre for Infectious Disease Epidemiology she line manages a series of research staff members and is secondary supervisor to two PhD students. She has broad interests in the epidemiology of communicable diseases across vulnerable and neglected population groups, particularly the interface between the laboratory sciences and public health, as well as scientifically novel academic research and policy.
Dr. Stagg holds an Honorary Lectureship at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and teaches MSc students both there and at a series of other institutions, as well as being a BSc module organiser at UCL. She has an Associate Fellowship from the Higher Education Authority.
