Biography
Following my laboratory-based PhD in Virology and Immunology at the University of Cambridge, I moved to the Health Protection Agency's Tuberculosis Section in 2010 and retrained in epidemiology. After my secondment to Brigham and Women's Hospital/Harvard School of Public Health, in 2012 I took up a Research Associate post at University College London, from which I was promoted to Senior Research Associate in 2013. I was subsequently awarded a National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) Fellowship, becoming a Senior Research Fellow in 2015 and a Principal Research Fellow in 2017.
My research focuses on the epidemiology of communicable diseases across vulnerable and neglected population groups, particularly the interface between the laboratory sciences and public health, filling evidence gaps with scientifically novel academic research and policy-related work.

I hold an Honorary Associate Professorship at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, UK and teach undergraduate and postgraduate students at a series of institutions. Additionally, I am a BSc module organiser at UCL.
