Biography

Haiyan joined UCL in 2018, having previously managed disease-specific National Digital Transformation Programmes at Bart’s and The Royal London Medicine School, Queen Mary University of London and Public Health England, Department of Health, where she worked on national data migration, access and linkage using civilian and non-civilian datasets for primary and secondary purposes providing health intelligence and analytics to Civil Service departments and to the wider research community. 


Haiyan managed the operations and research programmes in Health Data Research UK in 6 research themes across 22 UK universities and over 30 industrial partnerships.

 

In July 2020, Haiyan joined the UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) as the Operations Manager to look after the operations and research programmes in 11 research themes across 20 partner organisations in the UK and acts as the conduit between the UK and the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA). 

  

From December 2020, Haiyan will work as the Research and Contracts Manager to lead on the strategy and operations for all research and enterprise portfolio in Environment, Energy and Resource in response to COVID-19 and during the Brexit transition. 


Research Summary

Haiyan’s research interests are social networking analysis and GIS in translational health tech and sustainable energy research.
