My research explores how people with aphasia, a communication disorder which often occurs post-stroke, understand and use multimodal cues such as gesture in everyday interaction. I plan to devise and trial a therapy programme utilising multimodal cues to target word-finding difficulties (anomia) and impaired comprehension, which are common in aphasia. My research is funded by Brain Research UK.
