Biography

Ilias is a full time Associate Professor in Engineering Project Management at UCL and CAPE-GLA Policy Fellow.


Ilias has received two policy fellowships.


His research has been sponsored by the Capabilities in Academic Policy Engagement (CAPE), the Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the International Construction Project Management Association (ICPMA), the Project Management Institute (PMI), Research England, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), and private firms. 


His research is published in leading academic outlets, such as: ASCE Management in Engineering, Construction Management and Economics, IEEE Engineering Management Review, IEEE Transactions in Engineering Management, and Project Management Journal.


He has received recognition for his work from the engineering and project management communities, e.g., received three awards from the Project Management Journal and the Association for Project Management (most cited article of the year award, 2020; most downloaded article of the year award, 2020; research paper of the year award, 2021). His work has received recognition by the Permanent Under-Secretary of State, for his contributions to the Industrial Strategy programme.
