Research Summary

My research is centred on investigating signalling pathways involved in angiogenesis mediated by vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). I have discovered a novel neuropilin mediated signalling pathway involving the scaffold protein, p130Cas, that is essential for cell motility. With the help of a BHF project grant, I am currently investigating the potential role for p130Cas in atherosclerosis.

Teaching Summary

I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have supervised PhD students and several BSc/MSc laboratory projects. I'm also a module lead for  the Cardiovascular Science MSc, teach on several UCL MSc/BSc courses and help run workshops on basic molecular biology techniques for the Physiological Society and UCL.
