I am a clinical researcher at the UCL Cancer Institute
specializing in gastrointestinal (GI) medical oncology. I trained in medicine
at Oxford and University College London, and specialised in Medical Oncology at
the Middlesex, Mount Vernon and Royal Marsden Hospitals. I hold a PhD in gene
therapy from the Institute of Cancer Research. I lead the National Cancer
Research Institute subgroup in upper GI malignancy, and multiple laboratory collaborations
investigating the biology of cancers. I have led a number of landmark studies
including the ABC-02 and New EPOC studies. I am chief investigator on 3 studies
in the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) upper GI portfolio and serve
on a number of committees including those for the NCRI (upper GI and
colorectal), American Society of Clinical
Oncology faculty and National Institute of Clinical Excellence. I have a
clinical practice at the Princess Alexandra and University College London
Hospitals NHS Trusts.
