Biography
Johanna holds a BSc degree in Political Science and International Relations and a Master of Research in Latin American Studies at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She is a PhD Candidate in Government at the University of Essex. Prior to starting her PhD program, she was an associated professor at various institutions in Colombia namely; Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Santo Tomás and Universidad San Buenaventura. She was also the director of the Master's program in International Relations at Universidad Nueva Granada in Colombia. Additionally, Johanna was a Principal Investigator on projects related to peacebuilding, transitional justice, reconciliation and foreign aid in Colombia and Latin America. She has experience working as a consultant for Foreign Aid Agencies and as an analyst in communication on Latin American affairs. Her main interests are peacebuilding, reconciliation, transitional justice in a multicultural context and grassroots communities such as indigenous and peasants, Latin American Studies, foreign policy. mixed methods and International Relations.
