I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology at the University of Manchester and after working as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London I went on to gain a studentship from the Medical Research Council to study for a masters degree in epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I moved on to become an assistant to a Consultant Neuropsychologist working in neurorehabilitation in both inpatient and community settings. I then completed my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at University College London. After qualifying I took two part-time positions, one as a Research Psychologist at Imperial College London working on cohorts and RCTs to study dementia and mild-cognitive impairment, and as an Older Adult Specialist clinician in the Islington IAPT service. My role within the IAPT services has changed a number of times over the years such that now I lead on research for the services and run the UCL University Clinic which sees C&I IAPT patients among others. I gained a full-time Clinical Research Fellowship from the Wellcome Trust in 2016 and completed a PhD as part of that. The fellowship was used to set up the Dep-GP and NCEL datasets with colleagues within CEHP and Division of Psychiatry at UCL. Since it ended I have become a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at UCL, and Clinical Director for the UCL University Clinic.
