I was awarded a BSc Psychology with applied environmental science (1992) and a MA in Human Resource Management (1994) from Middlesex
University. I have also gained a MSc in Health Psychology (1995) and PhD (2005) from UCL.
I am a Senior Research Fellow and Joined the Marie Curie Palliative Care Research Unit in April 2007. Since joining the unit I have been involved in numerous research projects and have provided research advice and support for Marie Curie Cancer Care staff. Since 2012 I have been involved in the Marie Curie Dementia Programme which aims to improve the end of life care for people with advanced dementia and their carers.
Prior to joining the unit I worked in the Centre for Behavioural and Social Sciences in Medicine at UCL for eleven years gaining broad experience of Health Psychology research. Past research has been in the areas of doctor-patient communication, and neuropsychological outcome following various surgical and medical procedures.
I am a Chartered Health Psychologist, Member of the Division of Health Psychology and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society.

- Advanced dementia
- Long-term cancer survivorship issues
- Advance care planning
- Improving quality of life in cancer patients
