Biography
Jie Huang joined the department as a lecturer in 2006 from University of Cambridge, where she was a senior research associate at the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy. She completed her PhD in Biomedical Materials at Queen Mary, University of London in 1997.
Research Groups
Research Summary
Jie Huang’s research interest covers development, characterisation, in vitro and in vivo biological evaluations of bioactive glass, novel substituted hydroxyapatite, biocomposites and nanocomposites for tissue engineering scaffolds and medical applications.
Teaching Summary
Jie Huang lectures third-year students on Production Engineering & Materials (MECH3012) and MSc students on Biomechanics and Biostructures (MECH GB03).
