  • Research Fellow in Complex Networks
  • Bartlett School Env, Energy & Resources
  • Faculty of the Built Environment
Jamie trained as an undergraduate in Physics at Imperial College London. She then studied a masters degree in theoretical biology with UCL's CoMPLEX (Centre for Computation, Mathematics and Physics in the Life Sciences and Experimental Biology) where she focussed on modelling complex, self-organising systems and stochastic biological processes. During her PhD at the Francis Crick Institute she studied the self-organisation of sub-cellular protein networks using agent-based computational models and stochastic reaction network models. Her research interests now lie in applying complexity thinking and agent-based modelling to the area of climate finance.
Research Summary
Jamie is working on the LINKS project led by Dr Nadia Ameli. She is interested in modelling interconnected financial systems as complex, dynamic networks. In particular, her work focuses on understanding the structure and evolution of networks of investors in low-carbon technologies and industries. Understanding the behaviour and interactions of different types of investor will enable the design of effective, cross-cutting policies that can align the financial system with long-term climate goals and mobilise financial flows towards the low-carbon transition.
