Research Themes
Research Summary
I am a PhD candidate in Health Humanities at the School of European Languages, Culture, and Society. My PhD project explores the history of psychiatry critique in Western Europe and the US in the second half of the twentieth century.
Broadly, my research interests are anchored in the history of intellectual thought and the history of science and medicine. The specific horizon I am working towards is a better understanding of the meaning of mental health. My research method is historical, I am interested in ways in which ideas, knowledge and practices travel cultural spheres and national borders. In particular, I am interested in those moments in human history when concepts of knowledge and truth are stripped of their reliability and resilience.
