Biography
I hold an MA in European Culture and Thought from UCL and a BA in History and Politics from University of Bonn. My current research is funded by a grant from the Wellcome Trust.
Research Summary

I am a PhD candidate at the Centre for Multidisciplinary and Intercultural Inquiry at UCL. My PhD project explores the history of psychiatry critique in Western Europe and the US in the second half of the twentieth century.

Broadly, my research interests are anchored in the history of intellectual thought, the history of human sciences and politics. The specific horizon I am working towards in my current project is to historicise the present moment of a "mental health crisis" in industrialised countries. What's at stake, how did we get here (and are we really in such a crisis?) and, maybe most importantly, who profits? My research method is historical, I am interested in ways in which ideas, knowledge and practices travel cultural spheres and national borders. In particular, I am interested in those moments in history when established conceptions of knowledge and truth are contested.

Teaching Summary
I am currently a teaching assistant on the Health Humanities MA (CMII0074 Madness). I have previously taught classes on the MA Gender, Society and Representation.
