Biography

Biomedical engineer with experience in machine learning and statistical modelling, signal processing and neural engineering processes.

Joined the Aspire Create Centre in March 2019 as a Research Assistant working on the Robovox project. Previously worked at Resmed Ireland as an Algorithm Verification and Validation Engineer. This role was focused on the development of test frameworks to assess algorithm performance and for the monitoring of various sleep-related physiological parameters.

Graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2017 with a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering. Thesis concerned the development of an audio-based classification algoithm to analyse user-technique errors in inhaler use.

As part of the undergraduate program, I undertook an internship as a biomedical engineering researcher in the National Cochlear Implant Programme, Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, and subsequently I worked as a Research Assistant in the Trinity Centre for Bioengineering to conduct cochlear implant related research.

Research Summary

Research Assistant on Robovox project. The project focuses on the development of soft robotics for an implantable voice box.

The role involves developing a control strategy for the purpose of deriving user intentions based off electromyographic activity.
