John Micklewright is Professor Emeritus in UCL Social Research Institute, where he was previously Professor of Economics and Social Statistics. Before joining the Institute, he was Professor of Social Statistics in the School of Social Sciences at the University of Southampton. His other previous appointments include head of research in the UNICEF Innocenti Research Centre and Professor of Economics at the European University Institute in Florence and at Queen Mary, University of London. He has a PhD from the London School of Economics and did post-doctoral work as a Prize Research Fellow at Nuffield College, Oxford.
