Biography
RhodriJervis graduated from Balliol College, Oxford in Chemistry in 2008 and after ashort time working for a medical research spinout in his home town of Swanseaobtained his PhD in fuel cell catalysis from University College London in 2015.After a post-doctoral research position in redox flow batteries he took up aposition as lecturer in Chemical Engineering in UCL in 2018.
Research Summary
Rhodri Jervis's research focuses on the synthesis and characterisation of materials for electrochemical devices; specifically, the use of advanced x-ray techniques including x-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray computed tomography (CT) techniques. He works on the following electrochemical devices:
- Redox Flow Batteries
- Lithium Ion Batteries
- Fuel Cells
- Electrolysers
- Next Generation battery chemistries
Teaching Summary
Rhodri is the module lead for two postgraduate/M-level modules in Chemical Engineering: CENG0028 - Electrochemical Engineering and Power Systems and CENG0045 - Research Methods.
He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy
