Biography
I am a PhD student from Soft Haptics and Robotics Lab, Mechanical Engieering Department, UCL. I recieved my MSc from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2019, at the same time, I was a visiting student in Tsinghua University (2017-2019). I received my Bachelor from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2017. 


  • I have (co-) authored papers published in high-impact journals and prestigous conferences, e.g., IEEE Transactions, ICRA, IROS. I also peer-reviewed full-length conferences papers presented in flagship conferences (e.g, IROS, ICRA, RoboSoft). 
  • I was awarded fully-funded scholarship (UCL-CSC scholarship) for studying my PhD. 

Research Summary
My current research is focusing on design, modelling and control of flexiblie, stiffness-controllable soft manipulators, to explore its medical applications, e.g., minimally invasive surgery. I have been developing robust, dexterious manipulators with fibre-reinforced chambers.


My research is multidisciplinary, which involves design and manfufacturing, electrical and electronics and system development. 


My ambitous is to creat soft robotic system that is application-oriented and beneficial to our socitey. 

Teaching Summary
At UCL, I have achieved the status of Associate Fellowship of the HEA and been a Postgraudate Teaching Assistant for various modules:

  • Mathematical Modelling and Analysis I (ENGG0003), undergraduate.
  • Control and Instrumentation (MECH0010), undergraduate. 
  • Mechanical Engineering Practical Skills (MECH0004), undergraduate. 
  • Control and Robotics (MECH0089), master.
