Dr Javier Silvente Saiz
Centre for Process Systems Engineering - Department of Chemical Engineering
Torrington Place
Tel: 020 7679 3836
  • Research Associate
  • Dept of Chemical Engineering
  • Faculty of Engineering Science

Dr. Silvente was graduated as a Chemical Engineer in 2007 at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (Barcelona, Spain). After working in the industry, Dr. Silvente was graduated as MSc in Polymers and Polymers. He started in 2010 his doctoral studies in Process Systems Engineering at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya under the supervision of Professor Antonio Espuña, working also in close collaboration with researchers of the Centre for Process Systems Engineering – Imperial College London (United Kingdom) and National University of Litoral (Argentina). During his PhD, he was working on the development of mathematical models to manage supply chains, such as mixed-integer optimisation problems, integration of different hierarchical levels within a supply chain and integration of data. Currently, Dr. Silvente works as a Research Associate in the Centre for Process Systems Engineering in the Department of Chemical Engineering at University College London, investigating advance optimisation models and tools to deal with the presence of uncertainty in complex processes.
