Jane Wilcock is based within the Centre for Ageing & Population Studies, UCL. Her main research interests are in dementia, ageing, emergent technologies and trials of complex interventions in primary care and community settings. This includes a focus on improving the diagnosis and management and end of life care for people with dementia and their families.  Examples include managing the NIHR programme EVIDEM and The Dykes award from the Alzheimer’s Society for an RCT on the effectiveness of educational interventions in improving the detection and management of dementia in primary care. In addition she is an adviser for the NIHR Research Design Service London.

Teaching Summary

Course Tutor on UCL course Qualitative Research Methods in Health, 2013-present. Sessions are for Masters level students, PhD students and research staff to acquire the knowledge and skills to design and conduct good quality qualitative research.

Taught and delivered Continuing Medical Education to Primary Care staff.

Facilitated Workshops for undergraduate medical students at the University of Edinburgh.

Educational presentations at local Alzheimer’s Society groups, Mental Health Task groups and Dementia Liaison groups.
