Computational systems and synthetic biology.
Microbiome engineering: studying host-microbe interactions and methods of targeted engineering in microbial communities. We also designed a novel C. elegans host-microbe model for evaluating engineered bacterial strains.
Biosensors: developing new whole-cell biosensors for in vitro and in vivo monitoring of metabolites involved in human health, in particular for inflammation and monitoring the environment within the human digestive tract.
