Biography
I am a medical sociologist and qualitative researcher based in the Centre for Population Research in Sexual Health & HIV, part of the Institute for Global Health.
Research Summary
As a social scientist with a background in global health and applied health research, my research focus is on digital health, sexual health, and HIV. I also have an interest in trauma-informed approaches to care, and in particular, how digital health care can be trauma-informed. I am a qualitative researcher, with experience in grounded theory, situational analysis, narrative methods and thematic analysis.
Recently, I have worked on the EPSRC-funded "INTUIT: Interaction Design for Trusted Sharing of Personal Health Data to Live Well with HIV" and on the i-sense funded "iSHOP: i-sense HIV online pathway". Both of these projects explored how digital technologies might be developed and optimised to improve both HIV testing and HIV care/support.
At the moment, I am one of the pre-trial qualitative study leads on "SEQUENCE Digital: Sexual health equity through evidence-based online clinical care," an NIHR Programme Grant for Applied Research, lead by Prof Claudia Estcourt.
Teaching Summary
I teach various sessions within the Institute for Global Health on qualitative methods and also on the mHealth module.
