I completed my PhD in paediatric asthma and wheeze: early life origins at the University of Southampton in 2010 and was appointed Clinical Lecturer at Southampton in 2011. In January 2015 I moved to ICH/UCL to take up the post of Clinical Senior Lecturer. My clinical training was conducted in Southampton and Oxford.

I have developed an interest in the early life origins of respiratory disease. During my PhD I explored epidemiological associations between maternal nutrition and respiratory outcomes in childhood, particularly wheeze. I am particularly interested in maternal diet and body composition and the effects of these upon fetal and early infant growth and development.
I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy and have experience in the design and delivery of undergraduate medical education. I have a particular interest in education focussed upon medical ethics and law as well as respiratory physiology.
