Katherine Twamley is an Associate Professor in Sociology at the UCL Social Research Institute. She specialises in gender, love and intimacy, feminist practice, and family, with a particular interest in India and the Indian diaspora.
Katherine’s research has been funded by the ESRC, the British Academy and the Leverhulme Trust, amongst other funding bodies. She is author of Love, marriage and intimacy among Gujarati Indians: A Suitable Match (Palgrave Macmillan: Basingstoke, 2014) which was shortlisted for the British Sociological Association Philip Abrams Award.
She currently leads the British Academy funded FACT-COVID study (with Charlotte Faircloth and Humera Iqbal) which explores how families with children have experienced the COVID-19 pandemic across ten different countries.
