Kana is an autistic autism researcher and committed to serving autistic individuals and their families through research, advocacy, and support.
As an autism advocate, she has shared her experiences of being an autistic individual and/or being an autistic autism researcher on media such as Spectrum and BBC. At UCL, she started the first-ever autistic peer group in 2019 (currently called UCL Autism Society), which has helped many autistic students to have a place to belong.

Kana is passionate about involving the autistic and broader autism communities in the research process to conduct research that positively impacts the day-to-day life of autistic adults.
In addition to her PhD research, she has been involved in multiple participatory autism research projects in and outside of UCL as an autistic collaborator. Recently, she was involved in research exploring autistic students' experiences of Statement of Reasonable Adjustments (SoRA) in the UK.
