Currently she is focusing on spatial inequality, ordinary places, and clean air. Previously, she  worked as the Principal Researcher in the international department of the RTPI, the Global Planners Network, the Commonwealth Association of Planners, and in the National Center for Social Research working to the UK Government.

Research Summary

My research centres on Public Participation in Strategic Urban Decisions, which is currently undervalued.

I study the interface between public (communities/stakeholders) and decision-makers (government/professionals) in relation to major and large scale urban developments and strategy-making.

I have worked on diverse (qualitative and quantitative) research projects contributing to this field. Currently I am focusing on spatial inequality, ordinary places, and clean air.

My publications help explain 1) the value of lay knowledge to place-making and planning practice & 2) the ways of involving communities in strategic decisions.

Teaching Summary

I teach across regeneration, housing, infrastructure, sustainability, urban environment, planning practice, and research methods.
