I did my BSc in Biology at UCL, followed by an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience at Imperial College.
My PhD, supervised by Prof. Taeko Wydell at Brunel University, looked at the differences in patterns of brain activation, related to reading in languages of contrasting levels of orthographic depth, using fMRI.
As a postdoc, I continued to use fMRI, in order to examine the differences between dyslexic adults with phonological awareness deficit, compared to those with a reduced visual attention span (VAS).
In parallel, I taught biological psychology, developmental psychology, cognitive psychology and quantitative research methods and statistics, as an hourly-paid lecturer at Brunel University, Birkbeck, Kingston University, Roehampton, Regents University and UCL IOE.

I moved to UCL IOE in 2016 and became module leader for year 1 undergraduate module Psychological Research and year 2 modules Brain and Behaviour and Cognitive Psychology. I have also co-led the PGT module Methodology and Statistics and taught on several UG and PG modules such as Core topics in Psychology, Reading and Spelling Difficulties, Understanding SpLD (Dyslexia), Personality and Individual Differences, Psychology and Neuroscience in Education, Special and Inclusive Education and Issues in Educational Neuroscience. Currently, I am the module leader for year 2 UG module Brain and Behaviour, as well as the MSc Child Development module Development of Brain and Behaviour. I am also the Academic Head of Learning and Teaching (AHLT) for PGT.
