The goals of our research are to identify early biomarkers of neurodegenerative diseases in the retina for early diagnosis and investigate novel therapeutic strategies for their treatment. To achieve these objectives, we are keen to develop novel imaging technologies to visualize early structural and functional changes in the retina in vivo and to evaluate efficacy of novel therapeutic strategies in a variety of neurodegenerative disease models, including glaucoma, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. We hope that the approaches will pave the way for translation to clinical use.
