I obtained my PhD in Social Policy from the University of Essex, for which I problematised and critically accounted for the increasing prevalence of 'wellbeing’ and ‘happiness’ in discussions of social policy and in the provision of healthcare services. My background is in Sociology and I completed an MSc in Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BSc in Social Psychology & Sociology at the University of Essex.
I am a Research Fellow in the Research Department of Medical Education (RDME) at UCL Medical School, where I am involved with various projects looking to better understand and improve education in medicine. During my PhD studies I worked as a Research Assistant on projects at The University of Essex, and for the UK Data Archive in the qualitative archives department. I also taught on a range of undergraduate modules. Before embarking on my PhD, I worked in market research.

My research interests include:
- Social policy and the NHS
- Governance and citizenship in context
of health, healthcare and health service education
- Neoliberalism and the political economy
of healthcare provision and education
- Post-structuralist Discourse Theory
