Loren Kock is a researcher in the field of tobacco and alcohol control. He completed his PhD in Epidemiology and Behavioural Science in 2020 before joining the UCL Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group as a Research Fellow.
A central interest and focus of his work is on in examining inequalities in tobacco smoking and alcohol use behaviours among priority groups that experience a high burden of morbidity and mortality. His work involves analysing population-level trends and influences on smoking, e-cigarette use and alcohol use, and conducting interventions and randomised controlled trials for smoking cessation.
He is funded by a UK Prevention Research Partnership consortium (www.spectrum.ed.ac.uk), whic is an initiative funded by UK Research and Innovation Councils, the Department of Health and Social Care (England), and the UK devolved administrations and leading health research charities.
