Biography
After an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Philosophy at Oxford University, I did an MSc in Neuroscience with a speciality in Neurodegeneration at King's College London. During my PhD at Bristol University, I used Drosophila to investigate common mechanisms underlying Down Syndrome and Alzheimer's Disease. I also collaborated with Dr Jepson on a study into an inherited form of epilepsy. During this period I became interested in inherited motor disorders, and moved to Dr Jepson's lab in the Institute of Neurology for my first post-doctoral position. At UCL, I have obtained funding from the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation and BBSRC, as a co- and lead author, to investigate the pathophysiological mechanisms of inherited dystonia.
Research Summary
I use the fruitfly Drosophila melangoaster to model human neurological disease. My key interest is understanding the contribution of alterations in neurodevelopment to behavioural impairment in inherited motor disorders. I have expertise in genetics, behavioural analysis, electrophysiology and imaging.

Teaching Summary
I have been involved in supervising undergraduate, master's and PhD rotation students' projects for the duration of my career at Bristol and UCL.
